The mission of the American University of Myanmar is to educate students to live lives of consequence; support faculty members to undertake original research and create knowledge; and mobilize faculty members, students, and staff to engage with the community to support the economic growth of Myanmar.  Accordingly, the University recognizes the important relationship which must exist between the faculty and the staff who share a commitment to the University’s mission.  Both in policy and in practice, the University demonstrates its commitment to its human resources, and seeks to maintain a healthy environment which shows respect for each employee, which provides opportunity for each employee to contribute fully, and which fosters personal growth.  Maintaining that environment is the responsibility of every employee, but managers and supervisors have a special responsibility to lead in a manner which fosters and maintains an environment of respect and encouragement.
