Governance

The American University of Myanmar has been incorporated in Delaware (USA) as a non-profit, non-political, and non-sectarian university.  As a non-profit university, all of its income is used in furtherance of its academic mission.  It has no owner or shareholders.  Rather, it is governed by a Board of Trustees comprised of prominent men and women from around the world who volunteer their time for benefit of the University.  As a non-political university and in accordance with US tax law, it does not endorse any candidates, make donations to their campaigns, engage in fund raising, distribute statements, or become involved in any other activities that may be beneficial or detrimental to any particular candidate.  As a non-sectarian university, it has no religious affiliation.  Indeed, the American University of Myanmar does not discriminate against individuals on the basis of their race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, genetic information, marital status, disability, age or veteran status in its administration of educational policies, programs, or activities; admissions policies; scholarship and loan programs; athletic or other University-administered programs; or employment.
