The Importance of Quality in Choosing a University

There are more than 40,000 higher education institutions in the world. Most award a range of degrees including bachelors, masters, and doctorates. However, the institutions and the degrees they award are not all equal. The best institutions are authorized by their governments to award degrees, are accredited, and have developed their reputations based on many factors:
  • highly qualified faculty members (PhDs or terminal master’s degrees from internationally-recognized universities), who engage in research, publish their research and win prestigious prizes for the quality of their work;
  • a low ratio of faculty to students;

The American University of Myanmar was pleased to host a delegation of business students, an alumnus, a faculty member and an administrator from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (“CUHK”) including a few students from the University of South Carolina studying at CUHK on October 2nd and 3rd, 2017. AUM Hosts a Faculty Member and Students from Singapore Polytechnic

The American University of Myanmar hosted Andre Han, Senior Lecturer and Course Chair, Diploma in Business Administration/ Diploma in International Business and four students from Singapore Polytechnic from August 28 to 31, 2017. They visited Yangon to undertake a Business Feasibility Study on behalf of Singapore companies considering expanding their businesses in Myanmar. The United States pioneered the concept of independent overseas non-profit universities in 1863 when the American University of Beirut was founded.
